Migraines

The exact cause of migraine headaches has yet to be determined by researchers and health care professionals. Theories suggest that vasoconstriction of certain blood vessels around the brain, head and neck often lead to changes in vision prior to the onset of a migraine, better known as an "aura" or "prodrome". Approximately 80% of Americans will experience the 'common migraine', which presents without any prodrome period prior to experiencing migraine pains. Typically migraine headache symptoms appear on one side of the head and face, often localized near the eye/temporal bone region. The throbbing pain is often moderate to severe and it most cases, can result in episodes of nausea or vomiting.   Triggers such as stress, hormonal changes, medications, rapid blood sugar changes, tension headaches, and seasonal allergies have all been known cause Migraine headache symptoms.
