Physical Therapy in Boulder, CO

When you enter our office at Boulder Sports Chiropractic, you will immediately notice our patient-centered team approach. Our 60 minute 1-on-1 physical therapy approach with our certified sports physical therapist allows the creation for a customized therapy program to allow you to achieve your health and wellness goals.  By using a systematic biomechanical approach, we are able to obtain objective functional measures to help you not only obtain pre-injury status, but to address the dysfunctional movement patterns which made you susceptible to injury in the first place.

Our physical therapists have undergone extensive additional training to obtain their Certified Sports Specialist (SCS), a board certification administered through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. This means that our physical therapists have obtained a greater depth of knowledge in rehabilitation and diagnostic skills related to orthopedic sport injuries, while participating in sideline coverage of athletic events. Wherever you sit on the injury spectrum, we are here to help. Boulder Sports physical therapy has experience treating patients with a variety of goals. This includes evaluating and treating patients following a car accident, rehabilitating a traumatic sports injury, determining the source of a chronic overuse injury, or helping an individual remain active and able to live a pain-free life with preventative tools and education.

While chiropractic and massage are focused on your structural problems of your muscles and joints, physical therapy is focused on restoring the function and control of the body. Our Boulder physical therapist will help to address the underlying strength, coordination, and motor control of the muscles and joints involved in your injuries. Using in office exercise-based therapy and home exercise programs we can help to fully eliminate your injuries.

It is our physical therapist’s job to observe movement patterns, evaluate strength, test mobility and listen to your history in order to understand how you got to the point of pain and where we begin to help you out of it. It is understood by all of our providers that in order to maximize your function, we need to address symptoms and manage pain first in order to be able to tolerate exercise.

Our Doctor of Physical Therapy is skilled in manual therapy techniques, including functional dry needling, to assist in the pain-relieving process and then is able to design an individualized exercise program to target specific impairments. We enjoy helping our patients move from injury to recovery through education on exam findings, body awareness and healthy movement patterns so that the patient is able to take an active role in their care. This approach helps to expedite the rehabilitation process and return you to the activities you love in the safest, most efficient way possible.

If you have recently been involved in a car or auto accident, our physical therapist can help you decrease pain, improve range of motion, and restore strength. Physical therapy after a car accident is an important part of your recovery. Our team works together to get you out of pain quickly and often there is no out of pocket costs to you.
